International Seminary The Chosen Generation
History
The church was founded in September, 1996, with a vision to reach Northwest Orange County with the message of God's love.

At the time, Dr. Dan Tyler was serving as the President of International Seminary, Chaplain of the City of Apopka Police Department, and Chaplain of the Tampa FBI, with no inclination towards pastoring a church. His plate was already full.

As Chaplain he was called to numerous homes throughout the area for domestic calls, unattended deaths, suicides, accidents, etc. Over and over again he met people in the streets and in their homes who did not attend church anywhere. Many of them had recently moved and were disconnected from church. Some had given up on church, but not on God. Time and time again people in the community asked him to start a church.

At the same time, as President of International Seminary, Dan was speaking in dynamic, growing churches around the world and feeling increasingly discontent upon returning home. At that time there were no churches in Northwest Orange County designed for seekers, starters, or returners. Most churches had leveled off or were in decline in spite of a surrounding community that was growing at the rate of 12-18% per year.

During a 40 day fast in mid 1996, Dan felt the prompting to accept the pastorate and lead New Vision Community Church. Since then the congregation has grown from 28 people to more than 350 who call New Vision their home.

God is doing something special at New Vision Community Church, which we cannot explain. Several hundred people have accepted Christ, including a number of "hardened" athiests who attended regularly because they enjoyed the music, messages, and ministry. In a recent survey, over half the congregation had found Christ at New Vision or had a family member who did.
